Replenishing

Rejuvenating my spirit today.

It's been wonderful to relax, listen and share beautiful music, and I started working on scrapbooking again in earnest.

Feeling much better and then there was a big storm today. I think that's what really did it for us in terms of putting us into a good mood again. Such power and beauty. I sounds like quite the hippie, lol.

I'm going through my planner and blog to figure out what I want to scrapbook about for our monthly review, then I shall tackle updating the garden monthly summaries, and maybe I'll get back to decorating the family vacation scrapbook again soon.

Here are some songs from some of my favorite artists: The Piano Guys!

Memorial Day

I have been incredibly grateful to have the means and opportunity to visit with many great people that are also my friends these past few weeks. My brother and I made it back to our folks' home safely today and while I figure out what to do tomorrow, I think back to where I was a year ago.

It was on a spiritual journey to Texas and while many things have changed since then, I'm still on that journey. Will be making sure to contact as many of the people I met during that trip over the next few days and am proud to say that I continue to work on one of my life's missions that was shown to me on this day one year ago.

I hope that we've all been able to take some time to remember all of those who have fought and continue to fight for all of us here at home. Stay safe and Happy Memorial Day, all.

May the Fourth

May the 4th be with you all!

In honor of the fun day that this has become, here are a couple of videos to celebrate! Hope this brings a smile today, I even think I've become a bit less cranky and jaded.

Rundown

Today has been a bit of a slow day for me mentally and physically so here's a playlist of songs I'm lovin' at the moment:

Jason Chen's cover of "Love on Top" by Beyonce.
Loving the key changes.

Landon Austin's cover of "Part of Me" by Katy Perry.
Not only is his style great, but his unique voice just takes songs to another level.

Alex Goot & Wellington's cover of "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction.
Not crazy about the original, but I'm pretty sure there's always at least one Goot cover in every seasonal playlist I make because I love his style and voice.

Hannah Harto & Songs To Wear Pants To's "Show Me Where Your Noms At".
Hannah of My Drunk Kitchen fame. She's my culinary spirit animal. It's pretty self-explanatory why I love this.

The Piano Guys' cover of "So Happy Together" by the Turtles.
I love their talent, creativity, energy, and love for music/ life.

Paradise Fears, Megan & Liz's cover of "Thousand Years" by Christina Perri.
You know that I love this song and there is just something so heartfelt and soft about this cover.

Demi Lovato's "Give Your Heart A Break".
I have loved and admired her for ages and this song has not only been different, but so very energetic. It's  been on repeat for the past few days.

Have fun!

Heart & Soul

I wanted to say that our hearts go out to all of the victims of the hundred of tornadoes that have struck the middle of our country over the past few days. We watch the news and keep hoping that the death toll does not continue to rise. Our hearts also go out the shooting victims up in Tempe.

I guess I'm still feeling pretty sensitive (and caffeine crazed) but with the heartache and subdued atmosphere around the household today, I was very touched by these videos that I found on YT.

The first is the vocal cover by Tiffany Alvord and The Piano Guys of One Republic's "Secrets" mixed with Beethoven.

The next is the extended instrumental by the Piano Guys with the Lyceum Philharmonic. It's super stunning and lifts my soul to see the passion and happiness coming from musicians of all ages.

I hope this brings a dose of joy into your life today too.
EDIT: Wanted to add a note because I realized today marks 2 years of blogging. : )
